Notice for Hamlet of Mt. Lorne Residents

October 18th is Municipal Election Day in Yukon

This includes elections for your Mt. Lorne Advisory Council

Mt. Lorne is divided into 5 Wards: Kookatsoon/CCC; Cowley; Robinson; The Meadows; Annie Lake Road

Each Ward has one Councillor. Councillors are elected for three years. Meetings are held once a month at the Mt. Lorne Community Centre, with the occasional special meeting. Councillors receive a small monthly honorarium.

Current Councillors for The Meadows, Robinson, and Cowley will not be standing again. These seats need to be filled. Current Councillors for Annie Lake Road and Kookatsoon/CCC are standing again, but nominations are accepted for all Wards.

Who is eligible:
  • Canadian citizen, 18 years or older.
  • a resident of Mt. Lorne for one or more years (Refer to Government of Yukon, Municipal Act)
How to put your name forward:

Fill out a Nomination Paper. Nomination papers are available at Mt. Lorne Community Centre (in the entrance way), or online at http://www.gov.yk.ca/forms/cs.html#elec Form #YG3626 Nomination Paper (bilingual).
